In this video I talk about the using the Graphite Modeling Tools to retopologize meshes created both in and outside of 3ds max. I cover situations I have encountered in a production environment including CAD data, triangulated sculpted meshes and creating a base mesh in 3ds as a guide to build a higher detail mesh on top of. For each instance I explain why we need to retopo a mesh at all.
