Recent Projects

Late 2013 and the first 1/2 of 2014 have been filled with some fantastic projects that have pushed me in new directions. In the past few months I have worked on my 1st episodic series, “True Detective”. I have also contributed to some upcoming feature films, among them “A Most Violent Year” starring Jessica Chastain, and “Equals” starring Kristen Stewart.

Of course I have still been working on commercials, game trailers, and other broadcast related projects. I will be uploading some new work in the immediate future, and hope you will check back from time to time to see what is new.

In this video I talk about the using the Graphite Modeling Tools to retopologize meshes created both in and outside of 3ds max. I cover situations I have encountered in a production environment including CAD data, triangulated sculpted meshes and creating a base mesh in 3ds as a guide to build a higher detail mesh on top of. For each instance I explain why we need to retopo a mesh at all.

My re-envisioning of a “Flying Merkel” took sort of a retro-futristic view when making my own design. Hopefully it stays true to the original. Work in Progress.
